Geyser Pool - Yellowstone National Park - Wyoming

I'm trying to plan out our next road trip with the trailer, and Yellowstone is high up on the list of places to which we'd like to return. There is so much to see and do there. If you go, plan on giving yourself at least 4 days to thoroughly enjoy the park, and more if you like to nature watch.

La Jolla Cove Beach Stroll - San Diego - California

La Jolla is one of the most beautiful towns in the world, and the entire area along La Jolla Cove park and beach is a very nice walk. How often do we take advantage of this incredible location that is just in our "back yard" of San Diego? About once per year now. It used to be more, but we now tend to hit Del Mar a bit more.

Fun Photo Friday - Portland's Liberty Bell - Portland City Hall

This is Portland's 2nd replica Liberty Bell, which sits just outside of Portland City Hall. Did you know that in 1970, the first Liberty Bell replica was damaged beyond repair from a bombing?

Tenaya Lake - Yosemite National Park - California

Here's a shot of the shore of Tenaya Lake from our 2015 trip to Yosemite. Bailey jumped in the very cold, nearly pristine water, and took a little swim. It's a beautiful rest stop to take for a picnic, or just to hang out for bit, in between hiking.

Snowy Sunset - Lake Tahoe - Nevada

This is from our trip to Tahoe a couple weeks ago. I took this while we were taking a walk on Tramway, at the top of Kingsbury Grade. Word is there is more snow on the way, so the ski season is not over yet!

Special St. Patrick's Day Posting - Blarney Castle - County Cork - Ireland

I thought about posting all kinds of Ireland pics, but chose this one of Blarney Castle for my St. Patrick's Day posting. The general association is obvious -- St. Patrick's Day is an Irish holiday, noting the death of the foremost patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick -- and there's that whole "luck of the Irish" thing as well. Blarney Castle is both Irish (because it is in Ireland), and is known for the Blarney Stone, which is commonly mistakenly believed to provide luck to one who kisses it. The gist of the legend of the Blarney Stone is that kissing it provides the user the eloquence of speech. Having this gift of gab could certainly result in one receiving good fortune, and, thus, the stone could be thought to at least indirectly provide luck when kissed.
Anyway, that's my story for today. Now time for some green beer.

Museum of Man Bell Tower - Balboa Park - San Diego - California

The California Tower at the Museum of Man in Balboa Park was finished a little more than 100 years ago. This San Diego icon is about 200 feet tall, and you are now allowed to climb much of the way up to get some great views of the city.

This week's Fun Photo Friday is a night shot that I took with a GoPro. More to come!

Under The Pier at Sunset - Pismo State Beach - California

This one is from our trailer camping road trip in September 2015, taken in Pismo Beach. After walking around the town, we hit the pier to watch the sunset. So I went down to the beach beneath the pier to get some shots from there. Pismo Beach is a beautiful area, and the beach itself is incredible.

Lembert Dome - Tuolumne Meadows - Yosemite National Park - California

The hike to the top of Lembert Dome, in Yosemite National Park, is moderate and a lot of fun. It has a fantastic view at the top of Tuolumne Meadows, and of the many peaks that surround the park. A highly recommended activity while visiting Yosemite, don't miss the opportunity to take the hike up Lembert Dome.

Fun Photo Friday: Don't be one of these

This one is from our RV Trip back in 2012 (I can't believe that was nearly four years ago), taken in the town at Bryce Canyon. We were just walking around, I think trying to find some ice cream since it was a hot day, and here was this lineup of beautiful horses. But the way I got the shot, it reminded me of the old saying, "Don't be a horse's ass." So, there you have it. Don't be one of these.

Circular Erosion Lines in the Sandstone - Zion National Park - Utah

Sandstone rock formations, with lines that were caused by water flow, intense monsoon rains, and wind, surround you while visiting Zion National Park in Utah. Zion is amazing, with beautiful scenery and high cliff walls. There are a lot of great hikes that take you to some incredible hidden treasures and views.

I highly recommend a visit to Zion, just in the southwest corner of Utah, about 160 miles from Las Vegas.
